Updating to WordPress 5.5 and JQuery issues

This is how we temporarily fixed the few minor issues we were experincing after updating to WordPress 5.5 on some of our websites. We do not claim credit for this fix nor do we claim it will fix all issues in WordPress 5.5. We simply Googled “How to fix WordPress 5.5 Jquery issues” this brought up a load of external third party websites with this fix.

The issues we found were due to WordPress removing the outdated jQuery Migrate from their latest release.

1- Yoast SEO – we couldn’t run the indexing process below, which aparently would speed up the website by moving the index off the website over to Yoast SEO.

2- WPBakery Page Builder- was no longer visible in the page admin, instead the below text was displayed

The solution

The solution which worked for us (and was recommended all over the search results) was to download and install the Enable jQuery Migrate Helper from the WordPress plugins directory.
